I support higher standards of education—
 
   When we discuss jobs, we also must discuss education because we cannot expect to have competitive jobs without educated and skilled workers.

   I was blessed to attend a good public school and went on to Tennessee Technology Center of Morristown. I believe in the future of the public school system. We have good schools and good teachers that need to have the continued support of our citizens. Our children are this country’s greatest natural resource. If we do not ensure that they have the necessary skills to step into the future and guide our nation toward a global marketplace then we have wasted a very precious opportunity.
